The Aquatic Centre

The Aquatic Centre offers opportunity for fitness, learn to swim, advanced leadership training, specialized programs such as scuba and synchronized swimming, public pool use for adult and tot, lane, family and public swims and much more. The Aquatic Centre is attached directly to the P&H Centre.



Saugeen Valley Conservation Authority

The headquarters for the Conservation Authority located just south of Hanover offers 2.5 km of spectacular nature trails that are very popular in the summer for hiking and in the winter for cross-country skiing.  The Conservation Authority provides the ideal spot for family outings and picnics with its large variety of native wildfowl species as well as exotic pheasants and other animals that can be viewed year round.  The Conservation Authority maintains another beautiful area near Allan Park, a short drive east of Hanover.  The stocked pond is ideal for fishermen and picnic grounds are available.  Almost 6 km of hiking trails turn to cross-country ski trails in the winter with marked routes laid out for experienced and not so experienced skiers.  The park is also famous for its exciting tobogganing and sledding hills.

Whispering Hills Golf Course

This 18-hole golf course is open to members and green fee payers and offers full clubhouse facilities licensed by the LCBO.  The course measures 6,000 yards with a par of 71.  Golf lessons are offered by a professional.

Buck's Crossing Golf Course

Hanover and area's newest golf course is located just east of town on County Road 4 (formerly Provincial Highway #4).


The Paramount Theatre, located downtown, provides year-round entertainment with the latest in movie releases.  The Hanover Drive-In Theatre is located at the southeast edge of Hanover and offers summer entertainment for the entire family.

Hanover is home to a number of community groups dedicated to cultural pursuits that take place at our Town Hall Theatre.  Some of these include the Grey-Bruce Singers, the Queen's Bush Chorus, the Hanover Youth Choir, the Grey Bruce School of Dance and the Hanover Community Players.

Hanover Public Library

Located in the renovated Civic Centre complex in the centre of town, the library has something for everyone, from books to computers.  The collection includes a large number of books, videocassettes and DVDs, audiocassettes, magazines and newspapers.  Audiovisual equipment is available for rent and internet connected computers are available for use by patrons.  Library services include quick and in-depth reference; a local history collection including back issues of The Hanover Post (now published as The Post) and censuses of Grey and Bruce counties on microfilm; pre-school programs; a shut-in material delivery service; French language books; large print and talking books.  The library actively participates in the Southern Ontario Library Service giving patrons access to a large selection of audiovisual materials and books through interlibrary loans.

Because of its central location in the Saugeen area, Hanover offers a number of restaurants and dining facilities to choose from.  Hanover attracts shoppers from throughout Midwestern Ontario to enjoy the large variety of retail and personal service shops.
